Written in square and round Ashkenazi script, 39-40 lines in 3 columns for the main text, up to 122 lines for the marginal commentaries, 69 to 73 lines in the responsa. Ruling in plummet, 2+2+2+2 vertical and 40-41 horizontal lines. Pricking noticeable in all margins. Running titles on all versos and sometimes on rectos and versos, 14 + 17 + 14 + 17 quires of 12 leaves each, except for vol. I, VII 1 0, XIV 6 (five single leaves cut out from quire I of vol. II); vol. II, i 12-5 IV 1 0, v 6, IX 6, XI 8, XII 8, XIII 1 0, XVII 6; vol. III, V 8, VIII 1 0, XIV 3 (three leaves cut out from quire I of vol.IV); vol.IV, 112-3 1118 , ív 1 0, VI 1 0, XVI 8, XVII 8 (the last two were added in 1413). The composition of the quires shows that originally the manuscript was divided into 2 volumes. The present division into 4 volumes was made before 1592, when the manuscript was censored, as the censors signatures appear on the last pages of all four volumes. Catchwords decorated by pen-drawn grotesques and floral motifs.
