Veress D. Csaba: Veszprém megye és a Szövetséges Hatalmak stratégiai légitámadásai a II. világháborúban

Kingdom from December 1941. The county of Veszprém was highly in danger: there were several war bases here, and moreover, the only Hungarian fighting battalion was concentrated here. Beginning with the 3rd of April 1944, the airspace of the county has been crossed continuously and exposed to several air battles, however, the county was involved in three strategic air-raids only (Nitrogen Works Pét on 14th June and 14th July, airport Veszprém on 8th of July), but the number of air battles and of unplanned bombings was very large. The Anglo-American strategic air-raids were terminated by the advance of the Red Army. Due to security reasons, MASAF discontinued attacking targets around the Lake Balaton. In the air-space of the county units of the Soviet tactical air forces started their activities. Author's address: Csaba D. Veress Bakonyi Museum H-8201 Veszprém 202
