vessel, on the third fragment with medallion the wind-representation faces the spectator, that is it has no direction. The dimensions of the medallion: outside: d=4 cm, inside d= 3-3,1 cm. Dimensions of the medallion outside d= 5,2 cm, inside d= 4,2 cm. D. Gabler drew my attention to the identification of the head represented in the medallion of the Balatonfüred villa as a wind-representation. Here, too I should like to express my thanks him for his help. On the basis of the contradiction in the green background field of the room No. 11. at Baláca I think that this picture field could be the one with opposite direction at the contact of the picture fields, the representation of the bird with head turned back refers to this. At the painted stucco of the Red Dining Room in question, at the stuccos of the room No. 11 at Baláca and of the Balatonfüred villa. Earlier it was supposed that maybe the painted fragments decorated several rooms. PALÁGYI 2004. 178. At the contact of blue and red picture fields the height of the medallion is 5 cm, while its width is 5,7 cm. Here I should like to express my thanks the restorer V. Cziráki, for making the sketches and drawings of the stucco ledge. It can be observed best at the birds of the picture strip with green background colour. The length of the picture bands includes the weel-base of the medallions at the two ends of the picture bands. The length of the hypocampus is identical with that of the scene with the deer carrying,, without the dog. REINACH 1922. 80. 3. At the Red Dining Room the ribbons are red-blue coloured. We did not find other colours on the other fragments of the candelabrum. LDM Inv. no.: 65.21.6. BÍRÓ 1993. 37-38., Fig. 9.; BÍRÓ 2001. 5. Furthermore a similar representation of a panther, from Aquincum: unpublished, without the more exact knowledge of the locality, is known. It was put together by O. Madarassy for the 2001 Aquincum exhibition connected to the AIPMA Conference entitled "Room, Shrines and Palaces. Selection from the wall-painting and stucco collections of the Aquincum Museum."
