INTRODUCTION No article and data have been published from the Heteroptera fauna of őrség until now. Early data were published from "Szent-Gothárd" in the Hemipterapart of the Fauna Regni Hungariae by HORVÁTH (1897). However, the city is not the same as the city Szentgotthárd in Őrség area (as many authors mention) but is Vasasszentgotthárd (presently Sucutard) in Transsylvania (Romania). őrség is a hilly area situated at the Austrian and Slovenian border, and far enough from the Hungarian capital of Budapest. Therefore, no intensive sampling was established before the 1980s. In the last decade extensive, locally intensive collecting trips have been organized by the staff of the Bakony Natural History Museum (Zirc) and that of the Savaria Museum (Szombathely). A few amateur entomologists also contributed to the collections. This article is based mainly on that material collected by them. Beside it the article includes data resulted from a few collecting trips made by the first author, and data of material deposited in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (Budapest), Janus Pannonius Museum (Pécs) and Mátra Museum (Gyöngyös), too.
