Helytörténet - Halászi Aladár - D. Rácz Magdolna: Halászi Aladár szonettjei a Jósa András Múzeum Irodalmi Gyűjteményében
Halászi Aladár — D. Rácz Magdolna There is a great number of sonnets among his poems. In the history of literature we first find sonnets in the first half of the 13th century. However, it is Francesco Petrarca who is considered to be the father of the sonnets, who wrote his works in the 14th century. The Petrarchan sonnet includes two four-line strophes and two tercinas (three-line strophes), the rhyme scheme is abab abab cdc dcd. In the 16th century French poet Pierre de Ronsard wrote his sonnets with rhyme scheme abba abba ccdeed. Another classical virtuoso of sonnets was William Shakespeare. He changed the order of the rhymes: abab cdcd efef gg, and also the digitation: he wrote in special strophe only the two last, rhyming lines, thus emphasising the point. All the later innovations keeping the traditions can be traced back to the pattern of the Petrarchan or Shakespearean sonnets. Aladár Halászi’s sonnets follow traditional forms. They reflect a large scale of emotions, thoughts: patriotism, love, grief, passing away, salute to the ideals. We are lucky to receive these writings enriched by the own thoughts of their writer. It is a rare occasion that a poet shares with his readers his thoughts inspiring his writings. Aladár Halászi e-mail: haIaszi.aladar@hotmail.com Magdolna D.
