The almost two years long interior reconstruction was finished and on May 16@ on the occasion of the International Museum Day, the Jósa András Museum was again opened for the public. On June 20th new exhibitions of the museum were opened on the eve of the program “Museums at Night”. In September we arranged the presentation of a short film showing life and work of András Jósa shot mostly by own means of our institution. On December 1st museum held a triple holiday in the County Hall: museum was founded 140 years ago; dr. András Jósa, the founder died 90 years ago and the annual of the museum (Jósa András Múzeum Évkönyve) has been continuously published for 50 years. On December 16th a memorial table initiated by our museum was unveiled at the wall of » the building standing on the place of András Jósa’s birth-house in Oradea. In 2008 the appointed number of the stuff of the County Museum Directorate was 101. Six chapters of the report on the activities observe the complete work of the Museum Directorate. Colleagues published a total of 87 studies and arranged 74 exhibitions. In 2008 our museums and exhibiting places received 166,795 visitors.
