Neuropteroidea of the Béda-Karapancsa landscape protection area - an evaluation from point of view of nature conservation. Levente ÁBRAHÁM and György SZIRÁKI One Megaloptera and forty Neuroptera species were collected in the Béda-Karapancsa landscape protection area, mostly in different gallery forests (i.e. in plant communities Salicetum purpureae, Salicetum albae-fragilis, Querco-Ulmetum). Sialis lutaria and Sisyra fuscata are freshwater neuropteroids, and Coniopteryx aspoecki, C. pygmaea, C. tjederi and Chrysotropia ciliata also are typical hygrophilous insects. On the other hand, Coniopteryx arcuata, С lentiae, Chrysopa phyllochroma, Ch. abbreviata and C.formosa are thermophilous species. The southern geographical situation of the examined territory, together with the characteristic effects of the riverside microclimate make the coexistence of insects of different ecological demands possible. Although the majority of the collected Neuroptera may be regarded as frequent species, others (Coniopteryx aspoecki, С pygmaea, С arcuata, С lentiae, С tjederi and Chrysopa nigrocostata) are rare in Hungary (or even in Europe), and represent a considerable value from the point of view of nature conservation. One of the collected species, the antlion Myrmeleon formicarius is protected by law in Hungary. Authors' address: Ábrahám Levente Somogy County Museum H-7401 Kaposvár P. О.
