TWO PERIODS AT THE HEAD OF PALÓCFÖLD

Few people can tell you that they were two times editor-in-chief of a journal. Dr. Mihály Praznovszky is one of them, since he directed Palócföld, the Salgótarján based literaty, artistic and public life paper from 1986/3 until the end of 1987, and from 2001 to 2007. The two periods are a tight decade, and this is a considerable time. First, he performed his editorial work as the director of the Nógrád County Museum Organisation, in the second phase - which was significantly longer - but at a distance - from Budapest and Veszprém county - with important positions did the editing of the periodical. He accepted the request and considered it a mission from the love of his motherland, the personality and workmanship of Imre Madách and Kálmán Mikszáth. Accordingly, in spite of many other work and activities, he tried to show as much as possible in literary and artistic values beyond the magnitude of the rich past and present of the region. This essay in the museum yearbook attempted to show the primary orientation of the main editorial endeavors.
