Néprajz - Molnár Ildikó: A hagyományos, tájba illeszkedő településkarakter története a 19–20. század fordulójától napjainkig Hollókő példáján

ILDIKÓ MOLNÁR A TRADITIONAL AND NATURAL VILLAGE CHARACTER: LANDSCAPE HISTORY OF HOLLÓKŐ FROM 19TH CENTURY TO THE PRESENT DAYS Preservation of Hollókő’s natural and traditional image - in the view of the important parts - is very succesfuL The landscaping and architectual image of the settlement is really unified: spatial structure, the network of roads and streets, the view of sites and the church can give a unique sight for everyone. All these parts together express the essence and meaning of World Heritage title. The National Heritage Protection Program, the World Heritage title and the efforts of local people didn’t let this traditional village of natural harmony get lost. Every new and old visitor can see now the results of their aspiration: the renovated castle, new surface on roads, restored leas all around the village and the continuously maintained Old Village. In my monograph I’d like to study the relationship of man and landscape and I’m also studying the progress, which wrenched the local people from natural enviroment. 1 will try to find out, how Hollókő’s outer, external lads affected on the possibilities and needs of villagers’ life. I’d also like study the changes of landscape and image after the events like land division in 1868 and World Heritage award. I will examine the characteristic of the social changes, what were made by the locals’ massive migration and working habits in other settlements and far areas. In my study I’d like to show, how changed the villager’s different landscaping activities - planting, deforestation, draining of swamp, changes around the creek, cultivation - the whole image of Hollókő for decades. I’ll try to show the difference and its reasons between the people’s life in Old and New village. I’U describe all kinds of effort, what had been made by villagers to preserve, protect and continue their life in harmony and peace with nature and their traditions. 310
