Néprajz - Molnár Ildikó: Hollókő gazdasági változásai az elmúlt másfél évszázadban, különös tekintettel a Világörökségi cím elnyerése utáni időszakban

ECONOMICAL CHANGES IN HOLLÓKŐ IN THE LAST ONE AND HALF CENTURY, LIFE AND PROGRESS AFTER THE WORLD HERITAGE TITLE ILDIKÓ MOLNÁR Before this study created in 2014, an other local ethnographic, economic, social and cultural based research was made. It became the background survey of Hollókő management plan. Changes in the direction of peasant society - in Hollókő also - was significantly influenced by the first decades of the 20th century. In this period, there was a relative economic development between the two world wars and during the communist era, when the goverment forced the way of artificial industrialization .In 1860 the border fields of Hollókő were shared between the local peasant families. Most of the these families got 2-3 acre fields as a share from the local noble estates. The quality of these fields were so bad, that’s why small amount of crops could be harvested on them . Because of these circumstances the villagers discovered the way of animal trading (especially cattle), as an other opportunity. Later locals’ agricultural production adopted to the changes, so they started to produce forage crops instead of grain crops. After the Second World War, rapid changes were happened in the hungarian society, and the regulation in the protection of monuments also changed and Hollókő got the title of World Heritage. These social events caused irrevocable changes in the village life, so in last two decades Hollókő completely lost contact with the its own agricultural habits. Today, the income of Hollókő comes from the tourism, state subventions and EU tender sources. 310
