Körmendi Géza: Tata-Tóváros, mint kedvelt fürdő- és üdülőhely (1773–1939)
Most springs gushed forth in the gardens of the houses of Komáromi Street. The two largest ones broadened out to form a minor lake; a spa was established here. The springs ceased flowing in 1 961 and their sites were covered with earth. In the 1930s, owing to the springs, baths and associated programmes, Tata was a popular target for tourists; tours were organised and guidebooks on the township were published. A "Committee of Holiday Resort of Tóváros" was set up, then in 1935, for the organisation of tourism, the Tourism Association of Tata District. The far-reaching plans were cut short by World War 2. 244
