Simultaneously the chief town character and the less significant domain centre one of Szombathely had resulted a highly differentiated noble class in property, the members of which lived locally and had houses there. Since several ones of the landowner families in the county possessed tax-free houses in Szombathely (Sibrik and Káldy families) in the same way as the episcopal solicitors, being the leading officials of the estate, had played an especially important role in the legal life of the town. They worked at the court of justice as well (e.g. Kitonich, Gorup). On the account of the above mentioned aspects and of the remarkably significant presence and influence of the Chapter of Vasvár, besides the great number of well-read people, several men of law or men, who had experience in the legal procedure, calling themselves solicitors and were nobles, had been found at the beginning of the 17th century in Szombathely.
