A vallástudományi konferencia előadásai - F. Kovács Péter: Közép-Jáva hindu-buddhista korszakának épített emlékeiről

TISICUM XXIII. - A VALLÁSTUDOMÁNYI KONFERENCIA ELŐADÁSAI Péter F. Kovács Notes on the History of Architectural Remains from the Hindu-Buddhist Period (7th-15th century) in Central Java During a year-long scholarship provided by the Indonesian government (Darmasiswa program) the author had the opportunity to explore the ancient shrines of Central Java from an archaeological point of view. He visited these hidden and barely documented temple sites (in bahasa Indonesia: candi) personally, and examined their spatial organisation. As a result of the above mentioned survey, the paper would like to draw attention on this mystic part of Indonesia’s past. It aims to give a short reflection on the history of Javanese Hindu-Buddhist epoch and a general picture of these special architectural remains. The list of these sites not only includes touristic places (such as Prambanan and Borobudur) but almost unknown, concealed temples (namely Candi Retno, Candi Ijo, Candi Kadisoka, Candi Ngempon, Candi Pendem, Candi Asu, Candi Lumbung) as well.
