The Duality of an Ancient Nuptial Rite in Székelyföld

LAJOS BALÁZS In most of the thematic ethnographic descriptions one can reád about the tradition of "bunning" (gathering the bride's hair up in a knot) as a representation of the rite of becoming a married woman during the wedding party. In the espousal of Csíkszentdomokos, this element usually takes place after midnight. The process of "bunning" is based upon the framework of a removing / initiatory rite.
