So in conclusion, with these maps we wanted to demonstrate how different kinds of data used in the same context can help solve archaeological problems. Now, by extending the scope of field examinations around the excavation and supposing the same structured arrangement of the features existed, we could estimate the size of the neolithic settlement. Moreover we could calculate house and population numbers, and analyse land use, and the pasture verses arable debate etc. with greater accuracy, thus allowing us to address important economic and social questions concerning the settlement as a whole. With GPS we have not only made intrasite surveys but inter-site surveys as well, providing us with clues for the appraisal of the neolithic settlement network in the microregion around Füzesabony.
