Csiffáry Gergely: Csulai Móré László emlékezete

VERESS Endre 1941 Olasz egyetemeken járt magyarországi tanulók anyakönyve és iratai. 1221-1864. Budapest. ZOLNAY László 1977 Kincses Magyarország. Középkori művelődésünk történetéből. Magvető Könyvkiadó. Budapest. Gergely Csiffáry László Csulai Móré This study provides an account of the life of László Csulai Móré, one of the more colourful figures of 16 th century Hungarian history, who disappeared from public view in 1543 in Heves County, when the Turks occupied Kisnána Castle, seizing both him and his children. Historical accounts, both old and recent, have been somewhat unkind to him, and prone to gross exaggeration on more than one occasion. Using the sources and publications which are available to us we trace the origins of the Móré family, describe László Móré's own family and accompany his progress from the lower to the upper nobility, which included the rapid acquisition of land and riches, and an extremely advantageous marriage. Móré's presence among the ranks of the baronage came to an end with his internment in 1543. In the concluding part we acquaint the reader with the fate that befell his wife and his family. 554
