P. SÓLYMOS.: Ecological and biogeographical investigation of the recent mollusc fauna of Szársomlyó (S Hungary), southern side

The selected malacological material was identified following Kerney et al. (1983) and Soós (1943). The record was classified according to the recent geographical distribution of the species, following Kerney et al. (1983). The multivariate statistical procedures were carried out using Matusita quantitative distances, Ward-Orlóci fusion method (MISSQ) and hierarchical cluster analysis (Tóthmérész, B. 1993). Results Ecological analyses The distribution of mollusc species was investigated on the S side of Szársomlyó. The relative frequency of the species were examined on the basis of totalized data of 4 samples per each areas. According to these data (Table 1) the following habitat pattern types or ecological groups can be separated: open, transitional, closed and the transitions of these goups like open-transitional and transitional-closed (Table 2). These groups are equvivalent of the vegetational covering. Table 1 Number of individuals on the basis of totalised data of 4 samples per each areas. Legend: tom=collected with thin-out method.
