Régészet - Nagy Márta: A Hajdúbagos/Cehalut csoport leletei a Sebes-Körös vidékéről
Márta Nagy THE FINDS FROM THE HAJDÚBAGOS GROUP IN THE SEBES-KÖRÖS AREA Körösszakái and Körösszegapáti are located on the northern bank of the river Sebes-Körös, in the south-eastern part of the Hajdúbagos/Cehalut group's territory. At that site, the group was preceded by the Ottomány culture, the influence of which is apparent in both the forms and the decoration of the finds discussed in the study. In contrast, the influence of the tumulus culture is much smaller; it can be detected only on a few types. Therefore, the question may arise whether we can presume the real presence of the tumulus culture or there were only trade and cultural connections between the late Ottomány population and peoples bearing elements of tumulus culture. The finds unearthed so far do not provide an unambiguous answer. Some of the finds unearthed in the region (Debrecen-Bellegeló'-Kondoros bank) can be dated to the early tumulus period, but there are only very few forms and decorations that are unique to the tumulus culture. There might have been a minor tumulus-related migration including a few families, who brought their pottery culture along to the Sebes-Körös region and established, together with the local population, the culture manifesting itself in the finds of the Hajdúbagos group. Whichever supposition is true, there is evidence that the emergence of the tumulus culture was not a result of sudden waves of settlement but rather a slow but steady infiltration of small communities of various origins; or it came about as a cultural effect of those communities. The available finds suggest that the settlements located in Körösszakái and Körösszegapáti can be dated to the early period of the Hajdúbagos group (RBB2-BC), and they precede the cemetery unearthed in Hajdúbagos-Daraboshegy.
