ARRABONA 2011.49/1. TANULMÁNYOK SOME COMMENTS ON THE WESTERN DIFFUSION OF THE TOKOD GROUP The basis of this paper: my former thesis topic was presented on the ceramic material of 28 objects excavated in 1995 and in the spring of 1997 at Győr- Ménfőcsanak - Bevásárlóközpont site that was determined as late Kisapostagearly Encrusted phase, i.e. on the turn of the early and middle Bronze Age (RBAlb - RBA2a). From the material of four pits (Objects 214, 280, 901, 903) situated about the middle of the southern part of the excavated site some vessels and vessel fragments that could be connected to the Tokod Group stood out. The so called “Tokod-type jugs” have been known from Győr-Ménfőcsanak from the collection of Mithay Sándor to the latest excavations (http://www.mnm-nok.gov.hu/hireink/ regeszeti-munkaink/423-evezredek-emlekei-menfocsanak-hataraban.html (Sept 2012) Fig. 18. But this jug type is a widely diffused imported ceramics from the Tokod-Hatvan) basis area. The household pottery fragments decorated with impressions (textile, string) appearing in the late Kisapostag-early Encrusted phase finds suggest more intensive connections with Hatvan-culture than the mere import activity. The research of the interaction among the early Transdanubian Encrusted Pottery (Kisapostag), Hatvan and Aunjetitz Cultures in the Kisalföld area at the turn of the early and middle Bronze Age requires further published finds and comparison mainly with finds from the Danube bank in Komárom-Esztergom County and southwestern Slovakia.
