László F.: Beiträge zu der Geschichte der Fleischerzunft von Győr - László F.: Data to the history of the butchers’ corporation at Győr

Three charters of incorporation of the Győr butchers are known, their dates are 1627, 1628 and 1660. The present paper gives a number of extracts from the documents of the corporation chest, describes the prescriptions on the masterpiece, the trespasses in the course of slaughtering and selling by retail, the fight against bunglers, the lease of butchers' stalls, the abuses in the weighing of meat, the illicit actions of butchers and their consequences. The most frequent offences were swearing, cursing, revilement, theft and the arrest of cattle. These acts were punished by the guild with various sanctions as chastizing with the „plaga", exclusion from the corporation or a fine. As a supplement the history of the Győr sausage-makers is outlined. Contrary to other cities, pork-foutchers had no corporation of their own in the town.
