importance but it was still present influencing the way of life of the people living in the area. In Somogy county, there are few villages which did not have a "hegy," a hillside full of vineyards. People in Somogy county could not imagine their farms without a small vineyard. That is true of out analysed location along the river Kapos where some, as yet unpublished, sources were discovered: 1/ "Articles" of the vinyards on hills Szalacska and Kata in the village Nagyberki from 1778; and a registry book of the vineyards kept between 1824 and 1831. 2/ "Regulations" of the vinyards on hill Teleki in the village Taszár from 1849; and a registry book of the vineyards kept between 1889-1949. The analyses of current data and written sources offers an opportunity for tracing the lives of the vine-growing villages through two centuries.
