THE ROLE OF FAMILY PHOTOS IN THE (RE)CREATION OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY The photoes could be collected from family archives show the life-style change of rural societies in the 20th century more preciesily than narratives. All of the examples (photoes) showed and analized in the essay were made before the collectivisation (1959) in Kisapostag (Fejér county). The essay try to present the process from the period of „ideal" and „natural" identitycreating communities (nation, village, neighbourhood, kinship, religion, age-group, family) to their desintegration. In this „identity-vacuum" the society is inspired with disorder and chaos. Perhaps this is the reason of keeping up the local memory by family photoes, because they recreate the concept of an „ideal community" existed in the past. Family photoes originally made with the intention of recording the social order in the 1930's and 1940's have an important part in this process.
