Hajdú Ildikó: A hegyaljai borászat társadalmi beágyazottsága

THE DYNAMICS OF WINE PRODUCTION IN THE HEGYALJA REGION The dynamics of wine production in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region can only be examined in the context of multi-directional interactions. The economic mentality, the traditions and the economic impact of the vine growing and wine producing community, a well-circumscribed, but at the same time fairly open group owing to the trade in wine, following the political changes in the Tokaj region can only be studied in the correlation of these complex processes. The current tendencies in wine production and the economic behaviour of wine producers are essentially determined by the interaction of complex, both local and external factors. The comparison of longitudinal and diachronic data indicated countless changes in the economic attitudes of wine producers, no doubt also shaped by the interaction of demand and supply, which in turn had an impact on the broader culture in which wine production is embedded, as well as on several other areas of this culture. Economy is embedded in society; we can distinguish cognitive, cultural, political and structural dynamics. In the case of the Hegyalja region, however, we may speak of the dominance of a particular aspect, rather than the exclusive leading role of one aspect. Together, these all influence the mentality and activity of the economic actors of the Tokaj-Hegyalja region. Ildikó Hajdú 490
