An attempt is made to identify the name and the extent of the town's one-time quarters, the palisade protecting the town, and the name and location of the town gates. Other issues covered in the study include the exact location of the medieval parish church, and the continuity of Bebek Castle, the Óvár [Old Castle] and Alsóvár [Lower Castle], as well as the construction date and function of various, still extant buildings, which define the modern townscape. The last part of the study offers a description of the inhabitants of Gerse Street, their ancestry and family relations, alongside a reconstruction of the town quarter's topography, based on the relation of the plots to each other and the landed possessions of the nobles living in this town quarter. The study is supplemented by several reconstruction maps and genealogical tables illustrating the ancestry and the family relations of the landowners once living here. Tamás Bodnár
