This is why after a ten-year research work using the data published in previous studies we issue a volume about the general history of hospitality and guest-entertaining in Miskolc. While collecting the data it became clear that there are very many interesting facts about this topic. So it is justified to publish this material not only in studies but in volumes as well. This first volume is about the period between 1745 and 1945. The second volume will be about the period between 1945 and 1985. In the second volume there will be a separate chapter about the deficiencies pointed out by expert readers and about the amendments resulting from new research. 150
