Dobrik István: Mokry Mészáros Dezső (Borsodi Kismonográfiák 18. Miskolc, 1985)
Mokry did not abstract but produced the objects required by his pictures and hereby was created the archaic reality that Kandinsky designated as "fantasticality poured into hardest material", the "great reality". Taking h is early pictures into consideration Mokry Mészáros Dezső can be coupled to Grand Art, however conscious, scheduled motifs can be observed in plenty of his later works. He drifted a lot during his life so his art was affected on different ways. There were only few people who could understand his personal goals, intentions, his situation was often beyond all bearing. Fortunately he had some friends who believed in his undertaking and strengthend his faith in art. The Herman Ottó Museum at Miskolc guards significant part of his works. In 1978 there was organized a commemorational exhibition presenting his life-work, which event was important antecendents leading up to publication of this book. 84
