Women's waistcoat from Mohács. R.n. 52.3050.1 / I. 38 cms / w. 33 cms / Mohács Waistcoat from the Eastern foot of the Mecsek. R.n. 52.3052.1 / I. 32 cms / w. 32 cms / Mohács embroidered with white cotton. The earliest pieces were made on black muslin or silk cloth, embroidered with a thicker or thinner white yarn. The early pieces were cut and folded in a rectangular shape, headdresses from the end of the 19 t h and the beginning of the 20 t h century were made of black satin cloth in the shape of a sling. Despite that the designs of the headdresses were freely drawn, patterns were not traced, but in the course of sewing the outlines of the main motifs were tacked around. Smaller filling elements were embroidered at random. Almost all forms of stitches in the country can be found on these headdresses. In the villages of the Drávaszög region we have a peculiar headdress-embroidery similar to that of the Sárköz. These were 45
