Southeastern parts (Lepidoptera) ÁKOS UHERKOVICH The first part of a series of papers dealt with the macrolepidoptera fauna collected in the environs of Vásárosbéc situated in the southwestern part of the area (Uherkovich 19891). No data have ever been published as far as Lepidoptera are concerned from the southeastern parts of the Zselic. The examined area is adjacent with the northwestern part of the Mecsek Mts. The dolomitic limestone of the Mecsek may also be found here in deeper layers, and occasionally may crop up on the surface. The highest point is 359 m. The area is well supplied with precipitation, and owing to its most versatile superficial formations, microclimatic conditions are likewise diverse. The first Lepidoptera material has been yielded by the light-trap functioned at Bakóca-Nagymátépuszta; this had been identified by L. Kovács. My collectings started in 1978 was continued in the following two years in the Sormás valley. Both diurnal and nocturna^ collectings had been done, the latter by the help of mercury vapour lamp (Figs. 1-8). I have shown a total of 599 macrolepidoptera species. Among them several species proved to be rare not only for this particular region but also for the southern parts of Transdanubia, or for the whole of Hungary (please cf. list of species) (Figs. 9-12). Herewith a short zoogeographical evaluation is given and list those species whose percentual value reaches 1 at least in one of my collectings sites (Table 1). The ratio of the species feeding on the foliage is shown in Fig. 13.
