35 He engaged with the Chief of a Caravan of Camels to take him to Nishapoor,

36 which is a town not far from Meshed. — This person was well known at Tehran, and is in the habit of beinging [sic !] merchandise annually from Herat

38 The former is the place of his abode — but I cannot learn that he has returned to Tehran since he left it in the year of 1821. From this source, we have therefore failed in query any Information of Mr. Kőrösy, we have also been disappointed in our enquiries by the means of Mr. Frazier,

39 a traveller, who went to Meshed last summer and who fruitlessly endeavoured to obtain any knowledge of his progress, or any circumstances, by which we might judge of the probability of again seeing him. I cannot but entertain serious apprehensions, that same misfortune has happened to our esteemed friend, and peculiarly repet that these relations must continue to suffer under the painful suspence, which the incertitude if his fate must cause to them, but nö opportunity shall be omitted prosecute our further researches. My brother in vain attempted to induce Mr. Kőrösy to relinquish his design of travelling in countries, where he would be exposed to every danger. He was M. Henry Willocks guest during the winter of 1820 studied the Persian and Turkish languages, of which he acquired a tolerable [sic!] proficiency, and we hoped that our ad vice had been listened to. But in the spring, he resolved to re-commence his travels and so deeply rooted in his mind was this desire, that our persuasions were unavailing. Prior to his departure, he left under my brothers care a sealed letter, which he mentioned, was his will and requested, might be forwarded to his relations in case his protracted absence might lead to a conjecture, that somé misfortune had befallen him. This, I have opened in the presence of Major Monthut, and taken in attested copy, fearful leant [sic !] from the nature of our Communications with Cons(tantino)ple it might be last. I also send copies of letter which Mr. Körösi adressed to my brother and myself during his residence at Tehran. His account with its accompaniments, you might have the goodness to forward to his friends and I shall ever continue to feel the most lovely interest in very thing relating to Mr. Kőrösy, as I have seldom been acquainted with a person of such high acquirements or possessed of such amiable qualities and prepossessing manners. ! Verschiedene sowohl an meinen Vorgänger Grafen v. Lützow als an mich gerichtete hohe Weisungen sprechen von dem Antheile, welcher höheres Orts an den Schicksalen des ungarischen Reisenden Alexander Kőrösy genommen wird, der schon vor einigen Jahren durch die Unterstützung seiner Landsleute in Stand gesetzt ward eine Reise nach dem Oriente namentlich nach Persien unternehmen, von wo aus derselbe mehrmals von sich Nachricht gab, bis letztlich alle weitere Kunde von diesem Reisendem ausblieb.
