Schoenfeld budapesti amerikai követ távirata a külügyminiszternek Nagy Fe/enc miniszterelnökkel folytatott tárgyalásáról SECRET URGENT (Received June 2-10 a.m.) NIACT 1018. PRIMIN Nagy informed me this evening that according to report from Hungarian Legation Washington the Departament has indicated date could not be fixed for proposed visit to Washington of PRIMIN and members Hungarians' delegation until date for proposed visit to London is known. He said date for visit to London has been definitely fixed for June 12th and he asked me to inform Department accordingly. He desires to visit Washington as soon as possible in order to be able to reach London from Washinton by June 12th. I said I would telegraph you as requested but that owing to extreme slowness of army radio facilities and delay in transmission of my telegrams I would advise, to telegraph Hungarian Legation Washington directly. I received London telegram

1 which is now before me reporting statement of Chief Southern Division Foreign Office Hungarians visit including comment on Nagy's personal qualities and desire to say that somewhat querulous tone of British official quoted seems hardly justified.
