Item any man shall nowe bring his speare garnished with grapers Vannplates and eorrenalles and two dayes afore to bring them into field to the Herauldes to be measured and sysed and the coulleurs to be ouerseene And five the frist Courses and five the second Courses of the speares to be equall V the last courses to beare euery man at his pleasure of great­nes being of oue length. Item there shall no man nowe be chardged ne serued with any man on horsbacke nor on foote hopen to chardge higher than one sadle And the footman onely to set his thigh and after that he heave his speare in his hand he shall runn with all or stand till it be broken vnlesse that he loose it with Crossyng in which case it (might ) shall moe be de­liuered him againe. And if he let it els in any wise fall he shall not moe haue it againe without it be at the desire of some Lady or gentlewoman present. And els the fault of the accom­plishment of the V Courses to be noted in him and if it happen them both to loose their speares without crossing the Heraul­des shall moe deliuer the againe so that they run two Courses moe aboue the 5 Courses foreseene alwayes that if any of both parties tarye ether for mending his armes or other reasonable Cause within then the XV Courses he shall moe take his speare to one of his seruaunles till he begin to runn againe. Item the second daye the said Fredericus of Waredna shall present himselfe at such an hower and place after the Kinges pleasure as is aboue said horsed and armed in manner of warre as best shall like him to runn XX Courses along a Tilt rayled and boarded on both sides to kepe in the horses against any such gentleman as shall list to come and holde him company horsed and armed as he shall seeme best. Item the speares to he brought in likewise ij dayes be­fore and euery man to haue them at his pleasure garnished the heades to be at th 1 endes of the breadth of a groat at the least. Item there shall 110 man be serued neyther 011 horsbacke nor on foot but euery man must steek his speare vppon a scaf­fold which shalbe ordeyned Iherfore at the Tiltes end and
