runn through till it be broken and if he let fall or loose his speare he shall not moe haue it againe till he haue told his fellowe the frist letter of his Ladyes Christen name and if he lett his speare fall the second tyme he must then assoile his fellowe such a question as he shall aske him ere he maye haue it againe or els cause some Lordes daughter to desire the forbearing of the annsw rering that question and if both loose their speares in the course they tw raine (two) shalbe bound to kepe the Tilt that daye viij dayes agaist all commers. Item the iij-th daye the said Lancelagus of Tresalwan shall present himselfe at the Kinges pleasure as is aboue said horsed and armed as he shall seeme best to his advanntage with a speare on his thigh and a sword by his side to recounter any such gentleman as will holde him companye and to runn together without tilt with their speares till both be broken or th' one at the least and if any of them let fall or loose his speare he shall not moe haue it againe so that he giue his fellowe a dyamond for to giue his Lady And if both loose their speares in one course either of them maye haue his speare againe so that each of them require other for his Ladyes sake by an Officer of armes and then to runn againe together and after that to sticke XXV strokes with their swordes by both parties aboue the saddle all manner of wayes, except the foyne and yf ether th' one or th' other to loose his sworde at the said XXV strokes be accomplished he shall not haue it againe till it be required by a gentleman authoriczed in the name of the Ladyes and gentlewomen of the Court, and if he loose it the second tyme he shall not more haue it againe but by the Kinges speciell commendement and if both loose their swordes at once they shall moe haue them againe by the ordinance of the Kinges eldest daughter and els not. Item if the said Lancelagus or his conterpart runn against his fellowes horse wilfully he that so doeth shall be punished at the Ladyes will or doinges.
