1919 il July 3. A note was sent to the French for permission to import arms. We protested against recruiting by the Czechs on territories occupied by them. July 4. We communicated with General de Lobit in order to obtain delivery of the destroyers which have arrived in Baja. A note was despatched concerning the occupation of territories which the Rumanians will evacuate. We sent Julius Muzsa, a deputy, to Bucharest to obtain information concerning the political situation and relaxation of Rumanian requisitions. July 7. A request was made to permit the traveling of Hungarian officers residing on territories occupied by the Serbs. July 9. Prince Odescalchi was sent to Vienna to inform Count Bethlen concerning the political situation. July 10. Mr. Persian was commissioned to establish formal contacts with the Italians. The French military command was requested to carry out as soon as possible their investigation concerning the fate of interned Hungarian refugees. July 16. Baron Bornemisza was commissioned to represent the Provisional National Government in Switzerland. July xi. I gave an interview to Mr. Moony, a British reporter, concerning the past and present political situation of Hungary. A note of protest was dispatched concerning the Rumanian atrocities at Apátfalva. July 17. The Hungarian Government sent a memorandum to the Principal Allied Powers informing them of the situation of Hungary and submitting its proposals for military and political activities in the near future.
