Nekünk amerikai magyaroknak is hasonló gyors és határozott módon kell elutasítani az olyan megnyilvánulásokat, amelyekkel hírnevünket vagy múltúnkat igazságtalan vagy torzított információval próbálják befeketíteni. A lényeg viszont, hogy mindjárt reagáljunk, mindjárt próbáljunk helyreigazítást, jóvátételt vagy bocsánatkérést követelni. Szintén nagyon fontos, hogy higgadtan és jó angolsággal fogalmazzunk. Ha elégtételt nem kapunk a sértő féltől, akkor szélesebb fórum előtt indítsunk tisztázási kísérletet, és ha komoly uszításról, rosszindulatú támadásról van szó, még a jogi lépésektől sem kell visszariadni, elvégre ilyen esetekben a törvény a sértett oldalán áll. Most nem rég jelent meg egy ilyen magyar becsmérlő könyv Milton G. Lehrer tollából. Reagálási példaként közöljük Tarasovics Sándor levelét. Ehhez hasonlóat írhat mindenki, aki ezt olvassa! Among other things, the Federation monitors the state of human rights of Hungarians in Rumania. Your store currently is advertising a book which contains gross historical inaccuracies and, more importantly, defames and condemns Hungarians in the most propagandistic manner. This book by Milton G . I e 11 r e r Transylvania - History and Reality—was first published in Rumania at the end of the Second World War. It was published for the purpose of prejudicing public opinion against Hungarians in anticipation of the then foreseeable peace negotiations which were to address the dispute between Hungary and Rumania over Transylvania and the issue of minority rights. The book has been republished and circulated on Capitol Hill by an unnamed "person" during recent Congressional deliberations of measures to restrict trade concessions to Rumania because of that country's repression and persecution of its Hungarian minority -- one of the largest ethnic minorities in Europe. We fail to understand why you have chosen to advertise this book, not because it is controversial but because it promotes hatred and prejudice against members of a group solely because of their ethnicity.
