At around 2=30 p.m. the crowd went back to Batthyányi Square) where a sit-in developed as demonstrators announced that they would not move until Olga Diószegi was released by the police. Several thousand people sat down and refused to leave. About 2D police cars and four vans arrived on the scene. They took him to the Römer Floris Street police station) where he was held until about 3=00 p.m. without being booked. THEY HAVE HAD HEAVY FINES IMPOSED ON THEM BY POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITIES.-THE RIGHTS OF PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION AND PEACEFUL FREE EXPRESSION ARE JUST THAT: FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS. THE RECENT ACTIONS BY THE HUNGARIAN AUTHORITIES TO LIMIT EXPRESSION OF THESE RIGHTS CALL INTO QUESTION THEIR COMMITMENT TO OBSERVE THE OBLIGATIONS THEY ASSUMED UNDER THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, THE HELSINKI FINAL ACT, AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS ON HUMAN RIGHTS.-34
