Degrees and Fields The Department offers instruction leading to the degree of Master of Arts, in a variety of fields, including Medieval, Early Modern Europe, United States to 1865, United States since I865, Asia, Russia and East Central Europe. Assistance The Department annually appoints a number of teaching and non-teaching fraduate assistants. The assistantships range in total value from 3200 to $3500 (a stipend of $1700 to $2000, in addition to tuition and fees). These assistantships are renewable for a second year if mutually desirable to the student and the department.
