A Hungarian family of immigrants at Ellis Island (c. 1900's) The American Immigrant Wall of Honor is a permanent exhibit of individual or family names featured at Ellis Island in New York Harbor. Ellis Island is part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and is the only place in the United States where an individual can have his or her family's heritage placed on a national monument. The American Immigrant Wall of Honor is for everyone and represents immigrants from all historical periods. Wherever or whenever your first family member arrived in America, you may honor his or her name on the "Wall". You may register your family name, the name of an ancestor, relative, or even yourself. After registering the name or names you wish to inscribe on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor, you will receive a Certificate displaying the name you chose to honor. Suitable for framing , your Certificate serves as a constant reminder of your family's contribution to America's heritage. The cost for each name inscribed is $100.00, and the amount is tax-deductible. Your tax-deductible contribution will be used to maintain the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island National Monuments.
