Our countries are far from each other but we feel the Hungarian people very close to us in spirit as well as the Chinese Christians feel dose to themselves the Christians of Hungary. Having regard to being now at a peace-rally I tell you what we are thinking of when the question of peace movement cones up. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace and His gospel is the gospel of peaoe. Therefore the man of faith has to take a stand for the cause of peace decidedly and boldly. The question of peace is an integral part of our faith. True Christians always back the cause of peace. And one has not to speak of peace abstract but on concrete facts. For the time being we are constantly living in the shadow of a menacing war. In this situation we Chinese Christians feel that we should act determined and look for the source and the cause of the war. War does not drop from the air. In the past hundred years we were experiencing that the word: war, was equal to that other one: imperialism, China has been suffering from the war for the last hundred years. In those decades we had learned that it was imperialism that gave rise to wars. In 1937 the Japanese had invaded China, the war lasted for 8 years. In 1945 we hoped to be able to build up a New China in tranquillity. This hope of ours was also frustrated; a civil war broke out on imperialistic instigation and since then these forces have not calmed down. Henceforth we Chinese Christians consider the stand up against war equal to the opposition to the imperialism. The Chinese people are keen on peaoe and that is the point where the people and the Christies have a strong tie.
