The periodical church press regularly publishes articles on Jewish mission. The Hungarian eucuncncial Churches published a volume that contained also a study of Dr. I,Kádár: "On the Problems of Hungarian evangelical Jewish Mission." XXX There Í3 every sign that the work of the Jewish mission in Hungary will be assumed and carried on by the Churches i.e.by the respective congregations. The task of the missionary stations in the future is likely to consist mainly in the training of workers, the deepening of theological knowledge and in linking together the local congregational missionary groups. NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF METHODISTS TO BE HELD _ ----------------------------------János Szécscy, vioe-3uperintendent of the Hungarian Methodist Church sent the following circular to pastors: "Before and during Easter-tide, you have surely felt and experienced the particular love of the Lord for us, who believe in Him. Jesus Christ, Who was resurrected and lives, became 'our Lord to the glory of God the Father'. /Philippians 2*°11./ He is among us, and also says to us, 'Peace be with you'. I am so glad that tho Lord works with us 'confirming the.word with signs following'. /Mark 16 .*20/. Lot tho Lord illuminate our minds so that we, too, see that which is for our peace: 'Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called tho children of God', / Matthew 5:9./ In their unspoiled innocence, all human hearts beat for peace; for our God made man not for war but for peace. The Lord Jesus left to us the Gospel of reconciliation so that we should build a land the constitution of which is love and tho law of which is social justice. "Let us not tiro in our zealous work for our Church and for tho Kingdom of God,and lot us pray for all those who work and wish for reconciliation. "Our National Conference will be hold from Juno 9th to June l2th.I hope that our loyal friend,Dr.Paul N.Garber, bishop of the Genova diocese will also participate. How that the Government of the Hungarian Republic kindly granted him a visa, the bishop informed me that he will soon visit us. Wo think with gratitude of tho Hungarian Republican Government, which recognized the Methodist Church in 1947.Full religious freedom has been guaranteed. Therefore,we,too, can live in a democracy and nothing hinders us in our development. In our Church,we always believed in equal rights and equal obligations. Our Church fought zealously for human rights and religious freedom also in the past.As far as relations between Church and State are concerned, our ideal is a free Church in a free State,Our Church wishes to remain an independent,self-supporting Church. We wish to acknowledge with a grateful heart the gifts sent to us by our brethron from abroad. But these presents have not made us and will not make us dependent on foreign countries. We consider the support from our foreign brethren only temporary.Wo are prepared to maintain our Church by our own efforts and sacrifices, trusting the eternal Providence of our beloved Lord and the fruits of our work for our daily bread.
