Török Abstract: Foreign studies show that the revitalization of river reaches influenced by human impacts is feasible with scientific-based methods. Such methods, however, require complex hydraulic engineering, ecological and environmental approaches. The aim of this study is to present suitable field measurement and analysis methods that can support habitat analysis. The study reach of River Danube is located in the area of Sződliget between rkm 1672-1676, where flow velocity and bed morphology measurements were carried out. The field distributions of several hydrodynamic and hydro-morphologic features were also derived from the field measurements and discussed. In the next part of the paper, several habitat models, presented in foreign studies, are overviewed and their applicability on the study section is investigated, too. Furthermore, an attempt is made on describing the study reach with abiotic parameters based on the data fields derived from measurements.
