Results and experiences of the survey of female mosquitoes on NE-Hungary Szabó L. J. Department of Hydrobiology, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1, H-4032. Debrecen, Hungary Abstract: The assemblages of female mosquitoes was investigated on the areas Bereg and Debrecen (NE-Hungary). On the investigated areas individuals of 25 species were detected (17 species in Bereg, 21 species in Debrecen). In both areas the dominant species were: Aedes vexans, Ochlerotatus sticticus, O. cantantans, O. annulipes, O. cataphylla, Culex pipiens. The results of the investigation showed that the neighboring areas in Debrecen possess very different mosquito assemblages. The results of analysis of regression among number of females in the localities, in the flood-plains and the distances from the water body showed that on the number of females in the localities the number of mosquitoes in the flood-plain has a big effect and the importance of the distance from the water body (0-2 km) is small.
