Zemplén, NE Hungary D. Murányi Department of Zoology, Hungarian Natural History Museum, H-1088. Budapest, Baross u. 13. Abstract: Keywords: Perla pallida Guérin, 1838 is a stonefly with Southeast-Middle-European area, being frequent and characteristic predator of the streams of Mts. Zemplén. The species substitued by P. marginala Panzer, 1799 in most of our mountains. The density of each larval sizes of the species, the quantitaive and qualitative composition of the food-fauna and the potential predators of the stonefly studied in nine, different small water courses of Mts. Zemplén. There were no close correlation neither with the food- or the predator fauna similarly in the case of young or matured larvae. Analysis on the composition of the fauna of the nine waters of Mts. Zemplén comparatively with habitats of P. marginala in the Mts. Btlkk and Mts. Börzsöny did not show separation in the habitats of the two species. Consequently, these habitat conditions did not account the limited spread of P. pallida. It could explained with competitional influences or zoogeographical factors, possibly with human impacts. Perla pallida, food supply, Mts. Zemplén Klossy Irén alkotása
