The relationships and similarities among the remained 131 representative strains is presented by a dendrogram (Fig. 2.). Altogether ten groups of similar strains were created by the computer (Fig. 3.). Into the ten groups 105 strains were incorporated, while strains remained ungrouped. There was a close correlation between the numbers of similar isolates, the numbers of selected representative strains belonging to the individual similarity groups and the frequency of occurence of the members of| these groups in the water of the laike. The predominant species of this bacterioplancton are Pseudomonas alcaligenes, Micrococcus varians, Micrococcus agilis furthermore Flavobacterium spp. the isolates of which are very hardly to cultivate and maintain alive during a long term experiment under laboratory conditions. Among the bacilli which occur in the open water of this lake Bacillus sphaericus and Bacillus pumilus are the most common species. From our water-samples only one species of the Genus Aeromonas was isolated: Aeromonas hydrophila. The studied strains of this species showed otherwise a very broad spectrum of biochemical abilities. The predominant members of the bacterioplancton are in generál aerobic respiratoric organisms which cannot ferment or multiply tmder anaerobic conditions. From the water-samples of the open water region of the Lake Fertő a great number of bacterial strains were isolated which can tolerate high salt concentrations and grow at high pH values, besides many of them do not produce acids.
