The figures illustrate the impact of depth to the groundwater and excess soil moisture on crop yields, further the combined effect of depth to groundwater and salt content in the root zone on yield. Conclusions are arrived at therefrom on future development trends, identifying as the main objectives a better understanding, on the one hand of the depth to groundwater vs. crop yield relationship, an on the other hand, of the effects of temporary waterlogging on crop yield. Reviewing the criteria of the most universal solution of subsurface drainage, viz. of horizontal soil drains and considering these in their development some forecasts are endeavoured. Considering under a similar approach the questions related to designing, materials and equipment applied, further to costs, the future perspectives are outlined. Ezután két évig a FETIVIZIG főelőadójaként települési vízellátási csatornázási területen végzett munkát. A Gödöllői Agrártudományi Egyetem Vízgazdálkodási ós Meliorációs Tanszókén 1980-ban kezdett dolgozni, részt vesz az itt folyó kutatások műszaki jellegű feladataiban, és a gyakorlati oktatásban.
