Vitális Sándor dr.: A Salgótarjáni Üveggyár artézi kútja

The Artesian well of the Glass Factory at Salgótarján 415 1 liter water contains: Calciumoxyde, CaO 64.0 mg Magnesiumoxyde, MgO 66.3 „ Iron and altiminiumoxydes 8.0 „ Carbondioxyde, C0 2 154.0 „ Sulphurtrioxyde, S0 3 83.6 „ Chloride, CI 5.9 „ Silica, Si0 2 19.0 „ Ammonia, NH 3 none Nitrite, N0 2 none Nitrate, N0 3 traces Hydrogensulphide, H 2S none Oxygen consumption 0.84 mg 0 2/liter (—3.31 mg KMn0 3) The dry matter grouped in the usual manner to salts: Calciumcarbonate, CaC0 3 114.3 mg Magnesiumcarbonate, MgCO s 139.2 11 Iron and aluminiumoxydes 8.0 11 Sodiumsulphate, Na 2S0 4 148.4 11 Sodiumchloride, NaCl 9.7 11 Sodiumcarbonate, Na 2C0 3 74.2 11 Sodiumsilicate, Na 2Si0 3 38.6 11 The composition of water expressed as per cents of ion equivalents: Kations: Calcium, Ca 23.16 % Magnesium, Mg 33.47 % Sodium, Na 43.37 % Anions: Hydrocarbonate, HC0 3 70.77 % Sulphate, S0 3 21.14% Chloride, CI 1.72% Silica, SiO s 6.37 % Sodiumhydrocarbonate content of 1 liter water is: 117.6 mg. The water contains at the outflow according to the investigation on the spot 26.0 mg free carbonic acid and 5.0 mg Fe in each liter. Its hydrogen ion concentration pH = 7.2. In case of increased water yield (200 liters in a minute) 1 liter water contains 20.5 mg free carbonic acid, 0.77 mg oxygen and 0.38 mg iron, at the same pH value of 7.2. The free carbonic acid content of the water of the well can be removed by the insertion of an adapted apparature (aerating devices, etc.). The water is available for potable and industrial purposes.
