Dear Visitors, this is the third time that you can meet this booklet, which includes the programmes of Gyöngyös and South-Mátra region. The past years’ experiences prove that this brochure is needed. The tourists and guests coming to the town look for it, so do the inhabitants of the town and its vicinity. In the first part of this brochure you will find the programmes both in English and in German, besides the Hungarian and we hope these programmes attract our foreign guests as well. In the part titled “other cultural programmes” there are the programmes, which concern the local people including the young. I would like to call your attention to two outstanding programmes. This year you can also take part in the events of „Gyöngy” International Folk Dance Festival between 15th-20th August. Within the scope of this programme dignified foreign and national folk dance groups will show their best and most spectacular dances. The Mátra Vintage Festival a traditional colourful performance of wine-growing and viniculture of the town and its surroundings, is a delightful experience.
