(NEW! i Hortobágy - I Szilvásvárad Tour The riding tour from the Hortobágy puszta, - the home of the 'Nonius' horses - to the home of the world-famous Lippizan horses is offered to guests who take an interest in horse breeding. The tour starts from the Equestrian Centre EPONA where the 400 horses of the Nonius stud is beeing bred. The stud is kept in the territory of the Hortobágy National Park according to the methods of the traditional 'desert' animal keeping which is a uique sight in Europe. Call at the Lake Tisza on the way to Mezőkövesd, the land of the 'matyó'-s. A day rest and folklore programme. Opportunity of visiting the thermal health bath. The second part of the tour leads to the Bükk Mountains through Eger. The guests go to Szilvásvárad, a picturesque village 200 m high above sea-level, and visit the Lip- pizian stud which is one of the biggest breaders of this kind with its 250 horses. Finishing the tour the guests can admire the ungorgettable show of the Lippizan horses or can go for a pleasure driving by carriages to the picturesque Szalajka Valley or the Bükk National Park. A professional guiding is arranged at both of the studs. The village is the centre of Hungary's Lippizan horse breeding and the scene of many international carriage driving competitions. On the second day it will be in the Hosszú völgy (Long Valley), a romantic valley in the Bükk Mountains. The station is Felsőtárkány where the guests can have a day rest and have the opportunity to go on a sightseeing in Eger or going to the open air swimming pool or do some shopping. The following station is the Viliói tanya („Vilió Farm”) and on the last day riding back to Szilvásvárad. The equipment of the guests and the food will be carried by a jeep. During a week the guests will ride 160-180 km. Participation fee: 1 069 DM/person/week Three days riding tour (All the year round) In the first place this programme can be used as a complementary one for foreigners who spend 1-2 weeks in Hungary and would spend a weekend in the Bükk Mountains with riding on world-famous Lippizan horses. On the first day the guests meet one of the leaders of the Lippizan stud at dinner who propounds the programme. On the following day they ride to Felsőtárkány across the Bükk Mountains where there will be picnic. Accommodation and dinner in the Sziklaforrás Inn. After breakfast the tour goes on: the guests ride to Csipkéskút to visit the Lippizan stud. Lunch on a picnic on the way. On the last day the group returns to Szilvásvárad - lunch on the way. Accommodation and dinner in Szilvásvárad. After breakfast departure. The guests ride approx. 100 km. Their equipment is carried after them by a jeep.
