Race course description:

1. Start/Finish: Várkát resort, registration, WATER STATION, rocky dirt road, steep uphill after the first 100 meters, left turn, difficult passing.

2. 400 m: rocky forest road, chance to pass.

3. 1 300 m: fist sized rocks, short downhill.

4. 1 600 m: small uphill, small turns on dual track forest road, no shade.

5. 1 800 m: long uphill on forest road, grassy and rocky terrain.

6. 2 400 m: flat road on top of the hill, followed by a downhill with small turns.

7. 3 400 m: uphill on forestroad, flat stretch and some shade, good passing.

8. 3 700 m: steep uphill on forest road, large rocks sticking out, then rocky downhill.

9. 4 000 m: beginning of MACH 1 downhill, rocky dual track with sharp right turn, after turn trial is rocky singletrack.

10. 5400m:neartheendofMACH 1 isavery sharp left turn followed by a steep debris covered downhill, atTiba spring the trail gets grassy, follow the singletrack to the right and the start of GRANNY CLIMB, steep technichal hillclimb, watch for branches.

11.6 000 m: steep uphill on trail, between bushes, no chance to pass, at the top of this climb is a WATER STATION, then go right.

12. 7 000 m: smaller rocks on forest trail, start of ZSOLT’S FOLLY, pedaling downhill for speeds of 60 kph, then 90 degree left turn, downhill forest trail, deep layer of fallen leaves, twigs and small ditches for the next 1 000m, difficult passing.

13. 8 000 m: rocky, twisting forest road, small downhill, lots of trail debris.

14. 9 000 m: quick forest trail with easy uphill, and sharp turns, great passing, lowest elevation of the race (310 m).

15. 10 000 m: hillclimb begins with small turns on a rocky forest road.

16. 10 500 m: steep uphill, rocky forestroad, WATER STATION, road leading up to a stone quarry, rocky bulldozer road, good passing, some shade.

17. 11 000 m: WALL OF PAIN hillclimb begins, rocky bulldozer road, good passing, fresh mountain air, shade and a great view, 20% grade.

18. 11500 m: second stretch of uphill, rocky forestroad with deep layer of fallen leaves and lots of roGks, but good traction.

19. 12 000 m: third stretch of uphill, and then the top and the highest elevation of the race (610m), WATER STATION.

20. 12 400 m: rocky downhill singletrack, sharp left turn at the end of this stretch, uphill on rocky forestroad with nice view at 600 m elevation, OK passing.

21. 13 400 m: ATTILA’S DESCENT, rocky singletrack with lots of trail debris next to a deep gully, big 180 degree right turn at 14 000 m, some passing possible.

22. 14700m: steep downhill stretch on rocky forest road with water ruts and washboard, lots of shade and good passing.

23. 16 100 m: downhill on grassy forest road with steep left/right turns, tire tracks, gullies, puddles, washboard and assorted obsticles, 90 degree turn, then uphill.

24. 17 400 m: TERMINATOR hillclimb on 1000 year old wagon road, turns into singletrack trail with rocks, and fallen leaves, last600 meters climbs from 400 m to 500 m, ride or run through finish line. The next lap starts...
