The barrage and its related major projects are in operation from 1973.

The operation of the barrage is performed by the Kisköre Engineering Section of the Central Tisza District Water Authority with headquarters at Szolnok. The operation of the irrigation water supply is performed by the Tisza River Regional Waterworks and Waterworks and Water Management Enterprise (Szolnok). The operation of the power station is managed by the Tisza Power Stations Enterprise (Tiszapalkonya).
