Residential area The barrage consists of three main structures, namely the weir, the hydroelectric power station and the navigation lock. The weir is situated between the power station and the navigation lock at right angles to shaft of the new river bed of the Tisza. Its tasks is to secure the planned retention levels and of the water supply downstream. The weir consists of five openings of 24 m span each. The raised of the openings is at El. 80,20 m A. O. D. The closure is performed by radial — and titling-leaf gates made of steel for keeping 11,0 m height of water head. The main closure mechanism is controlled by oil-hydraulic hoisting equipment.
